We The People feel that it is time to remind Congress that they are civil servants not political careerists. In order to remind them of this fact We the People would like to set a two term limit on both the House and the Senate. We the People would like to see members of Congress paid equivalent to an O-6 in the military. Finally We The People would like to completely remove retirement for congressional members from the budget. Congress is not a career it is a voluntary service position.
James Madison said "Nothing so strongly impels a man to regard the interest of his constituents, as the certainty of returning to the general mass of the people, from whence he was taken, where he must participate in their burden." It is long past time for members of Congress to return to the masses.
