If the house of representatives are to represent the people then they should not be paid more than the average household income of the people. My petition recommends that the members salary is tied to the annual household income in the United States plus give them a local DC housing allowance for a studio apartment. In this way they will better understand the challenges of the people. Where as today with their salary approximately in the high one hundreds to $200,000 they are actually closer to being paid like the one percent. That is insane.
