Set a Zero Waste goal for the White House.

Created by K.D. on January 19, 2015

We want President Obama to set a Zero Waste goal for the White House and grounds. Zero Waste means refusing to see discarded items as trash with no better purpose than to rot away in a landfill.

Zero Waste systems divert trash from the landfill. Instead, waste is composted, processed for reuse in manufacturing, or recycled. By removing the problem of toxic landfill emissions, Zero Waste systems protect the environment and conserve raw materials for U.S. manufacturing.

With a Zero Waste goal for the White House, President Obama will set the example for federal, state and municipal lawmakers; businesses and other entities; and individual households across the nation. For more information about Zero Waste, see zerowasteadvocacy.com.
