Sever the ties of the United States to Interpol if Hamza Kashgari is returned to Saudi Arabia under their authority

Created by G.W. on February 12, 2012

Hamza Kashgari is a Saudi citizen that posted a message on twitter criticizing the Prophet Muhammed. After facing death threats, Mr. Kashgari fled to Malaysia in fear for his life. On a request from Interpol police in Malaysia detained Mr. Kashgari and may deport him to Saudi Arabia, where he will face possible execution for apostasy.

Being founded on the principles of religious liberty and free speech, the Untied States should not tolerate an organization like Interpol sending Mr. Kashgari to his death. If Interpol continues its involvement and organizes his deportation, the United States should leave Interpol as a member state. Also, the Obama administration should make it clear to the International community that we stand for civil liberties by offering Mr. Kashgari asylum in the US.
