President Obama has been a leading voice for human rights around the world and a tremendous ally of the LGBT community. Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and the government of Brunei has chosen to adopt Sharia law. These laws make it legal to stone LGBT people to death, flog women for adultery or having an abortion, amputate the limbs of those who steal, and other violations of international human rights law. We call on the President to impose serious sanctions on the Sultan and his closest advisors, reject Brunei's membership in any possible Trans Pacific Partnership agreement, and to publically condemn in the harshest terms possible the actions of this murderous regime.
