Sex offender registration needs to be abolished.

There are 850000+ people who are on the registry. Multiply this by 4 and you have over 3.4 million people and millions of dollars on a policy that has both been proven in studies and court decisions by empirical evidence and facts that does not accomplish what it is supposed to. Public safety. The 6th circuit court of appeals has ruled the registry is a form of punishment and is unconstitutional. It is a form of public shaming and affects the children of registrants, their employment, housing.
No other crime has the restrictions on them as registered citizens. Murder, assault, DUI, robbery. Think about it. On Halloween would you like to be aware if your neighbor had a history of drunk driving? It is called "Due Process " guaranteed by our constitution.
