Abolish the National Sex offender Registry and stop the discrimination against the victims the registry creates. The moneys saved can help the victims of sexual abuse with programs. Children of sex offenders, families of sex offenders, and tax payers are also victims. As we know, most sex offenses are not committed by a stranger but someone known to the victim in which means the registry often re-victimizes the victims of sexual abuse There are laws to protect, prisons to back up the protection, and courts to hand down sentencing. When an offender is released, he/she is entitled to a fresh start and should not have their self and loved ones judged and discriminated by the government or their neighbors. This is a serious issue that governments, both state and federal, spent too much on.
