sexual assaults in the military.

Created by J.P. on June 12, 2013

An estimated 26,000 sexual assaults took place with the military last year. Senior military officials have repeatedly to lamented the problem but have failed to find a solution and have been been ridiculed by members of both parties of the Armed Services Committee.

Senator Carl Levin, the chairman of the Armed Services Committee, has said that he would remove a measure aimed at curbing sexual assault in the military from a defense spending bill.

Our men and women who serve need to feel safe and know that assault and rape will not be tolerated. The prosecution of offenders must be carried out by independent procecuters and removed from the chain of command.
