Middle school students are typically the youngest group to start having sex with others, and often do not know how to be safe about it - particularly in same-sex couples. It is too often that STDs are spread through people who are unsafe, whether it be because they chose not to be or did not know how to be.
Also, this would be a huge step in acceptance of the LGBT community, and help to remove the stigma that same-sex relationships are just good for pornography. They are real people who just happen to love outside of the heteronormative.
If this can be spread and signed by everyone, it could make the world a safer place for many people.
