Kesha's Law. Physical and sexual safety is a basic human right of all Americans. This petition requests a national law stating that any person who makes the choice to commit physical or sexual harm to another person has also made the choice to nullify any and all business agreements between the two parties. The assailant therefore must release the victim from any contractual obligations, if requested.
The Manhattan Supreme Court has ruled that despite allegations of years of torture and sexual abuse, Kesha must follow a binding contract with Sony because the company has already 'invested money' in her career. This petition serves as a national outcry that sexual and physical abuse must be taken seriously and must be held at a higher regard in the eyes of the law than corporate profits.
