Trauma can affect anyone – all ages, cultures, and genders -and science is now showing that trauma can lead to significant biological, social, and emotional struggles for a survivor. As a nation, we must remain parallel with the advances in the research and understanding of trauma. In order to step forward, we must promote a service delivery system that is built off of Trauma-Informed Care. I urge you to join the initiative to make trauma education available to all community members and push to ensure that all direct care workers have the education necessary to provide services in a way that identifies the unique needs of a trauma survivors.
