Each generation has a defining movie. Gone with the Wind, Godfather, Star Wars.... "The Room."
"The Room" is the work of independent film director Tommy Wiseau, and has been heralded as the "worst movie ever made." It has also attained a cult status, and never fails to draw a crowd wherever a midnight showing is held.
While the original performances are hilarious, they are awful. I believe that this nation would benefit from a shot for shot remake, with the cast consisting entirely of oscar winners. Do not change one word of the original screenplay. Do not cut one scene. Do not edit one line of dialogue. The performances of the actors will carry the movie.
And this film is cheap. the entartainment/money ratio is a no-brainer.
This remake NEEDS to be made. I want James Franco as Denny.
