Should hire veterans ONLY if qualified to do the jobs otherwise you end up with a non-functioning staff.

Created by M.F. on December 16, 2011

Veterans that are hired for the VA hospitals should be hired ONLY if they can truly perform the job. There are many talented vets out there but there are also vets hired without checking out qualifications. These employees take up important jobs. An incompetant staff impedes vet care at the VA hospitals across this country and we will surely need competant and efficient healtcare workers when all our soldiers return home. I guesstimate you could reduce staff by 20% if every VA employee worked up to their full potential. Give them a 1 year probationary period that is adhered to and make it easier to terminate them after that first year if they are not working up to standards. We need a great medical team to care for our older and returning veterans. Give them the care they deserve!
