should repeal refundable tax credits that result in individuals receiving refunds that are in excess of withholdings.

Created by T.K. on November 01, 2011

Currently approximately 52% of eligible citizens are paying federal income tax. Of the remaining 48% who pay either no tax or receive refunds greater than their withholdings due to refundable tax credits. For every dollar given to an individual the government must take a dollar from someone else. I believe all should pay; but I think it is at least a starting point to stop the refundable credits. It is not the governments responsibility to subsidize families with children via the child tax and additional child tax credit. They already receive the standard exemption. Stop the Earned Income Tax Credit, there are many individuals that purposely keep their income low so they can max out on the EITC (I have prepared taxes) Why should some receive thousands and go on trips while others pay for.
