This act was a law since 2007. President Obama chose to repeal this law, allowing America's horses to be slaughtered for overseas human consumption. America's horses were never intended to provide food for humans. America's horses are raised to be human companions and to bring us many years of enjoyment by having them in our lives. People who own horses know they are as much a friend and companion to humans as dogs are. America's horses are routinely treated with medicines throughout their lives that are poision to humans when their meat is consumed. Animals raised for human consumption are not given these medicines. For this reason the FDA and the European Union has banned America's horses for human comsumption.
