Should spend more money on Finacial Aid and Goverment Grants for individuals who are poor, i.e single parent homes

There should be significantly more money spent on Federal Finacial Aid and Pell Grants for student who are poor and come from single parent homes. $1000 does not cover anything, even for going to a community college. Even if the single parents makes 'too much', that money is what they have to survive, they still struggle. If the governement can spend billions bailing companies out, they should be able to spend a lot more on educating the future generations. There are students out there whos single parents can afford the bills, but not an extra $2000 and money for books. I also believe that students with disabilities and mental illness should recieve more because if they are struggling and still keeping there head up high and tryign their best, they deserve to be recognized.
