Should there in the near future be a nation wide vote to legalize marijuana at the federal level by registered voters?

This would be a petition to raise a stongly falid point should there be a nation wide vote to legalize marijuana at the federal level not to change the law emideatly but to show congress and the rest of this great nation what is truly on the minds of those that choose to vote that are that are for or opposed the right for this "Drug"? marijuana to be legalized across all 50 states. This fix many problems on the criminalization, tax, and a agricaltureal stand-point but also create it's fare share of problems on the legislative stand-point. But again this vote would be the wake up call to congress to start crafting everything they need to to pass the law. And also this would help to stop the tip-towing around in states where it is legal or states that are on the fence
