Those who sign this petition have claimed thier right to American Citizenship based on the fouteenth amendment (All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.)If thier birthstate of West Virginia has left the United States they are claiming the right of citizenship based on the United States to be the the governing body during thier birth and were listed as American citizens before seccession. The right is also claimed if they have also been born in any state that has also been formerly governed by the United States, currently reside in West Virgina and were American citizens before seccession. Children also born to aformentioned should also be American citizens.
