Our nation needs to resolve its fiscal issues before the night of the last day before the government shuts down. The President should do the inauguration in the oval office and then immediately meet with Congress to resolve the pressing fiscal problems. We can't afford to let the debt ceiling and sequestration go to the 11th hour. Effects are already being felt in the department of defense. The Secretary of defense has warned about government furloughs and instituted hiring freezes due to uncertainty. Our country should be governed by our elected representatives not uncertainty.
The President should send a clear message to the American people and Congress by forgoing the costly inauguration and focusing on the hard work needed.
