The United States has been falling behind, in both education, and trade. This is what we believe is to be due to the lack of a standardized measuring system. Labeling products in both metric and imperial units has cost companies more then it would to use only metric units. Often, American products have to be resized from imperial to metric for trade with nations that are metric. Having US products sized in metric units would save money by avoiding having to relabel or resize a product. In education, our students have had to learn both customary and metric units instead of just metric. Placing them at a disadvantage because of the common mixups they may have between using both systems of units. This is why I believe that it is important for the Obama Administration to support metric.
