We ask that the US help combat extremism and terrorism by taking in more refugees who are fleeing violence in Syria and the self-styled caliphate.
Our goal is to combat extremism, and taking in more refugees is a better tactic than letting them rot in interment camps. "There is no surer way to create a young terrorist than leave them to fester in an under-resourced refugee community," Kathleen Newland of the Migration Policy Institute told USA Today.
Refugees are the most vetted people entering the United States. Not even one of the 750,000 refugees resettled in US since 09/11/2001 has been arrested for terrorism. Resettling the refugees has been shown to be safe ad compassionate. It would also be the opposite of what the terrorist want, so taking more refugees in would also be smart.
