The distortion of justice that Guantanamo Bay embodies is a direct affront to the ideals that are core to the United States of America. As a nation, we have looked down upon and vocally condemned foreign nations that violate basic human rights in this manner, and the hypocrisy of the situation is an insult to the citizens of the USA. There comes a point when the extreme measures taken to combat "terrorism" become more damaging to the national spirit, honor, and image than anything a terroristic threat could ever hope to accomplish.
