The website, www.topix.com, claims to be a website for local news, but is nothing other than a gossip site that has, over time, invaded the private lives of thousands of people, damaged the reputations of honest people, ruined lives, and even led to suicide. Is this website worth the pain it has caused and the lives it has claimed? And if not shut it down, why not ask for reform? Anyone can say anything and it goes unseen by moderators. This could eventually lead to more deaths and become a real nuisance if not taken care of. All users should be required to register, and all forums should be consistently moderated.
