Shut down the "We the People" petition website. While it may have seemed like a good idea around a conference table, it has been hijacked by fringe groups who are able to rally a devoted cadre to support petitions that are nothing more than public platforms for hatred, vitriol, and abusive views. By manipulating the internet, they quickly reach the threshold for a response, tying up government resources responding to ridiculous requests that have no true purpose other than exposing other people, or groups, to abuse.
It is, quite simply, time to go. For people who truly want to pass on their thoughts, they can contact their representatives, mail the White House, or even vote.
