Just read that Mississippi is having dire financial trouble because there aren't as many prisoners doing time in their prison.
Typically a for-profit contract guarantees a "full house" or at the least a high percentage of inmates. That cannot be legal. Say there are 500 cells and only 275 inmates. The prison is GUARANTEED 500. So where do we find them? We arrest and incarcerate 225 humans that may or may not be guilty! How on earth did the government sign off on maintaining human quotas in prison?!?
There are people incarcerated who are innocent and being kept behind prison walls because of a quota. More quid pro quo from the prison lobby. How much did they pay our Congress and Senate?
Do the right thing. Stop this revolving door and cycle of locking up people that don't belong there.
