Over the past two months, this site has been bombarded by petitions on things that are considered "stupid" by the majority of the American public. A browse through all the petitions and responses shows that the Obama administration has also failed on its promise to respond to any petition that receives over 25,000 signatures, while responding to petitions with less than 25,000 signatures that it can easily respond to.
In response to these events, we petition the Obama administration to shut down the We the People website, because it has failed in its goals of making government more accessible, and is a waste of the administration's time. We also petition them to find alternative mediums for allowing people to communicate with the executive branch, as a replacement to We the People.
