We the People is an offense to the integrity of the American people. One hundred thousand people band together to sign a US petition in hopes of changing federal policy. Nothing has ever come of it, only responses from PR. It is smoke and mirrors, giving the illusion of governmental transparency and making people feel like we are actually in a democracy.
I propose one of two things:
1. End the charade.
2. If a petition reaches maximum signatures then it will be assigned to Congress (if applicable) for further review and ultimately voting.
