Thousands of veterans are dying while awaiting paperwork in the VA system due to backlogs and/or lack of facilities. We petition the Obama administration to sign an executive order or present legislation to allow returning combat veterans to seek medical and/or mental health care outside of the VA system while awaiting paperwork within the VA. Any and all expenses incurred will be forwarded to the VA system for payment for all veterans with a valid DD214 with 6 months inside a combat zone and retired members with 20 years of service. Veterans that are able to receive care inside the VA system without longer delay as found outside the VA system shall continue care inside the VA system. We as a nation owe all that we have to these men and women. It is time for the President to act.
