Teachers are important members of any civilized society. As of this year, only one state in the union has recognized teachers by declaring a day in their honor. To promote education and recognize the important role teachers have in the lives of their children, communities and in society, we the people ask President Obama to sign an executive order commemorating one day a year, chosen by the President, to be a symbolic thank you to all teachers on behalf of the American people.
