The reason for this petition is so federal employees can spend time with their loved ones and be able to be on the place where they will say goodbye to the year that will come to pass. In some areas on Dec. 31st it gets a little dangerous to be on the street when midnight aproaches, and some federal jobs the last shift ends at 11PM. Additionaly most federal agencies are doing their "end of year updates" to the systems and not much assistance can be provided.
