Whereas: In the wake of the recent tragedy in Newtown CT, the Federal Government and the White House MUST take immediate action on guns and the control of guns.
Whereas: There are over 300,000,000 guns on the streets in the US and the overwhelming majority of those guns are OWNED BY LAW ABIDING CITIZENS.
Whereas: Politics being the problem, we need a starting point that will not involve a 2nd Amendment political mess.
Whereas: Due to the ease of purchasing a gun in the US, the Federal Government does not have a current and detailed national database of every single gun legally owned.
Therefore: To begin to solve this problem, I propose that the United States, by Executive Order, should take an immediate inventory and have a 60 day National Re-Registration Period for all gun owners.
