The Federal Reserve System also know as The Fed is really a misleading title as it not federally run or owned by The American Government, but rather is indeed a private, for profit corporation.
Generally speaking it is a bank and like with any bank you can close the account.
This bank (The Fed) has the goal to make money like any other company. And has been doing so without pay any taxes and controlling the value of the dollar it, it's self regulates.
The Constitution originally did not include any centralized bank. And our founding father understood the need to not include privatized companies in government business. We held a gold standard all the way until 1913 and since leaving it have always been in debit to this company.
It is time we close our account with The Fed.
