Sign an executive order granting felons with one nonviolent conviction in federal court to expunge their records.

Created by A.J. on February 04, 2014

Allow our fellow Americans who have paid their debt to society, not committed any violent acts and have only one federal conviction to expunge their records.

Research shows that a felony conviction greatly prohibits a person's ability to get a job, contribute to society and improve their quality of life.

The Obama Administration should sign an executive order that will allow first offenders to automatically take the conviction off their records without further issue. The person should fill out a form stating they meet the following criteria:

1. One Conviction
2. First offense was a Non Violent Act
3. No subsequent federal convictions in seven years.

If the person does meet the three elements then the executive order should take effect without further federal review.
