It is clear through decisions from the Supreme Court as well as several Circuit Courts throughout the US that marriage equality falls well under the equal protection clause in the fourteenth amendment. Some states continue to waste taxpayer dollars to fight this losing battle all in the name of discrimination and restricting the rights and protections of one particular group of people.
It is time someone stepped up and put an end to this dog and pony show, saving tax dollars and ensuring the equal rights of all americans regardless of gender or orientation. I ask that the White House and the Obama Administration sign an executive order to mandate all states perform and recognize marriage as a legal binding contract between two consenting adults regardless of gender or orientation.
