♥ ~ Under the Fish and Game Code, Section 2118, and the California Code of Regulations, it is illegal for private citizens to own ferrets as pets in the state of California. ~ ♥
♥ ~ We the undersigned would like to ask President Obama to please issue an Executive Order which would change the existing code and allow citizens to own ferrets as pets. ~ ♥
♥ ~ Ferrets are great companion animals. They are intelligent, clean, and loving, and when given proper care and attention, including being kept inside a home rather than being left in an open yard, have no risk of infecting the surrounding animal population with rabies or other infectious diseases. Ferrets bond strongly with their owners; they are social, friendly, and highly affectionate in addition to being playful and curious. ~ ♥
