HOAs in America have literally unlimited powers which they use to terrorize and abuse homeowners in distress and leave them homeless. I am a direct victim of abusive and fraudulent practices of HOAs in Chicago
I petition White House to stop this abusive practices and adopt following legislation:
There needs to be a provision in the Constitution that absolutely prohibits HOAs from confiscating properties from homeowners in distress and selling them well below market value to cover delinquent assessments. All around the country distressed homeowners are left homeless as their houses are sold for pennies to cover overinflated late fees. This is a violation of the Fifth Amendment, common laws, and simple human rights.
