Due to the sequestration, DHS will lose about $3.2 billion from its fiscal 2013 budget between now and Sept. 30.Most of the department's components will receive 5% cuts however due to cuts over the next 7 months, DHS components will likely experience them at greater amounts.DHS says the sequester will cause long lines at airport security checkpoints to reduced staffing on the southern border. If carried out over the next decade as designed, this represents only 2 percent of the federal budget. Federal agents will realize a dramatic decrease in pay.
