Significantly reduce the gap between US military and NASA budgets.

Since the first world war, the US has had a role in ensuring world peace, but over fifty years we have lost our role in maintaining progress.
With a budget as large as the military's ($663.84B in 2010, 37 times that of NASA), the US would be catapulted into future industries. The US would leap closer to space tourism, human Mars expeditions, space colonization, and interstellar travel.
NASA, currently employing 18,000 people, would have 0.5 million people working for it. Such an increase in workforce would make the wages of engineers and technicians increase incredibly.
A better education standard would arise. Teachers' pay would increase. High school programs would be improved drastically and America would leave behind its lousy rankings in math and science (23rd and 31st, respectively)
