Significantly reduce politicians pay and reform the political pay structure to be based off performance.

I would like to see the pay and benefits of politicians reformed to include a reduction in pay and benefits. I think the pay reform should include a pay system based off of performance, to be determined by the people of this country. In this time of national crisis and a climbing debt problem I feel the people designated to lead us through these problems should do so by example. Why should WE the american people be the only ones to suffer? Politicians pay should reflect that of the average American workers.
