Simplify the tax code and eliminate the windfall tax. I was diagnosed with COPD in 2002 and placed on disability. The retirement anuity said at age 65 I could receive funds. At 65 I applied again and was told I should have received $640 per month for the past 9 years. The amount was about $67,000 and a windfall tax for about $17,000. I paid the tax, but if the funds had been paid out over nine years, there would be no tax. We hear about 999 and Rick the prick's plan, but no change in last three years. What is so hard about setting a uniform cost of living amount for basic life necessities, then taxing every penny above that amout at the same rate; with no other exemptions or write-offs?
