Simplify the Tax Code to reduce average person's filing burden, use a flat tax rate to reduce loopholes & fiscal deficit

Created by A.L. on February 26, 2013

Every tax day, the average American needs to file a complicated tax return that occupies a great portion of our daily lives, on top of trying to understand the tax code and the requirements. Meanwhile, many individuals and companies managed to take advantage of certain gray areas and tax loopholes to avoid or reduce the tax burden. Why not simplify the tax code, such as:
- eliminate the filing time and reduce paperwork, thus increasing efficiency for everyone, including the IRS
- eliminate the complicated tax codes, so that an average American can file and pay the taxes easily
- implement a flat tax rate for everyone above a certain income level, so everyone pays a fair share of taxes, and with no more loopholes and different tax rates, everyone has to pay taxes, regardless of the source
