Simplify taxes. Eliminate FICA tax on individuals. No tax on minimum 'living wage' income under $18k plus $6k per dependent as a minimum livable income. Family of 4 would pay NO taxes until they earn $36k. One tax rate on ALL income over that amount. Rate to be set to approximate current rate on median income. No deductions except charity.
Minimum wage should be set at $18k for adults, with a lower rate for students 18-22, and another lower rate for dependents under 18. Living wage indexed to inflation.
Eliminate seperate budget for social security and medicare, since it all comes from taxes. If ALL income is taxed equally, single rate of 25% +/- should be close. this eliminates the regressive FICA tax. One flat fair simple tax for all.
