If necessary by virtue of no budget bill being passed, the Obama administration should simply follow the 1.2 percent cut imposed by the sequestration law and not force a 9 percent cut for nondefense programs and 13 percent for defense programs in the effort to embarrass its political opponents. The administration is destabilizing the nation and hurting the middle class by doing otherwise.
