In 1917, Woodrow Wilson declared that America has an obligation to make the world, "safe for democracy." Since then, the United States has engaged in countless meddling in the internal affairs of sovereign nations. Under the guise of national security, we have overthrown regimes and trampled over the people of nations that may have been our allies in defense and trade. A foreign policy such as this has cost the United States 20% of it's annual budget, has created anti-American sentiment throughout the world, and has taken the lives of innocent civilians caught in the crossfire.
We ask the President to consider the future of the United States and the rest of the world by constructing a new foreign policy based on free trade and peace, while strengthening our national defense at home.
