Here is the Thirteenth Amendment:
"Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
Clearly, part of the Amendment legally condones slavery: "except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted." Prison systems are constitutionally justified by this clause of the Amendment to enslave imprisoned men, women, and children duly convicted. We see it enacted throughout the country's prison system, even today. This clause MUST be removed from the constitution to protect the fair and equal treatment of all individuals, to finally render slavery totally nonexistent in the United States of America.
