Slow down Ivory Production

My Petition is for the gradual slowing and stopping of the ivory trade of elephant tusks. I strongly oppose the trade of elephant tusks due to the decrease in elephant populations. These majestic creatures have done no harm to humans unless provoked in their natural habitat. In just three years 100,000 elephants have been killed for the trade of their tusks. Poachers are the blame and need to be stopped If possible, more harsh penalties or prison sentencing could be an approach to reconstructing the elephant population. Another approach could be the illegalization of owning an ivory made product or the buying of an ivory made product. Being a lover of animals made this issue come to my attention and I do not wish to be part of a generation that has destroyed entire population of an animal.
