By grounding all non-military jet aircraft over the continental U.S., atmospheric temperatures will fall from 2°(degrees) to 5°(degrees) Fahrenheit within days. Historical evidence exists by comparing forecast temperatures and climate conditions to actual readings during the days after Sept. 11th, 2001 when all non-military aircraft were grounded over the continental U.S.
