Beginning in 2014 annually increase the the retirement age (for Social Security benefits) in a sliding scale manner until the retirement age is 75 years of age.
Born 1965-1970 = retirement at 68 years
1970-1975 = 69 years
1975-1980 =70 years
1980-1985 = 71 years
1985-1990 = 72 years
1990-1995 = 73 years
1995-2000 = 74 years
2000-2005 = 75 years
Keeping more of us working longer, will help ameliorate the effects of the Baby Boom, and help fund Social Security, and creates a larger tax base. In addition, it may help keep older Americans active and healthy for longer.
