Social Security Benefits for Stay At Home Parents

Created by S.B. on April 24, 2016

As a 61 year old woman reviewing social security prospects, I recognize a deficiency in benefits that affects many of us, women and men: time lost from paid employment in order to perform our most important work of all, that of raising our children. Whether out of necessity (lack of good child care options) or preference, staying at home to care for and nurture our nation's children benefits the child, the family, and the greater community by producing citizens ready to contribute to our nation.
