Our government is now calling our social security a "Federal Benefit Payment" This is not a benefit, it is our money. We and our employers invested 15% of our income before taxes. If you averaged $30,000 per year, that would add up to $180,000 invested. If you took our 3% per year, you would have $39,318 yearly or $3,277 per week, and it would last 33 years(retiring at 65). Our government took our money, they forgot that is was ours, they didn't have a referendum to ask if we wanted to lend them the money, they didn't pay interest!
And now they are calling it a benefit! This is our money and they need to pay it back to us and not use it for any other reason!
